A Ratchet tie down consists of a main wheel and a ratcheted swinging handle. The working principle of the Ratchet tie down is based on the operation of the swing handle, so that when it is rotated in one direction, the main wheel will only rotate clockwise, and when it is rotated in the opposite direction, the handle will slide and will not drive the main wheel to rotate. A Ratchet tie down allows rotation in one direction, while sliding or remaining stationary in the other direction. This makes tightening bolts, nuts or other tasks that require one-way operation much easier as they only need to be turned in one direction.
